My Approach
My approach to psychotherapy is depth-oriented and relational. I understand meaningful change as something that unfolds over time, rather than through quick fixes or symptom management alone. Therapy offers a space to explore emotional experience with care, curiosity, and attention to both inner life and lived experience.
Working with the Nervous System
Therapy often involves learning how to stay present with emotional experience rather than managing or avoiding it. My work supports nervous system regulation and increased capacity for difficult feelings, allowing clients to move through grief, anxiety, and transition with greater steadiness and self-trust. Pacing and attunement are central to this process, particularly when working with long-held emotional material.
My clinical work is informed by advanced training in Somatic Experiencing, developed by Peter Levine, alongside extensive practice in somatic healing, body-based psychotherapy, and depth-oriented approaches. I integrate this work with mindfulness, dream work, and a psychologically grounded exploration of meaning and spirituality when relevant to a client’s process.
Mindfulness & Inner Awareness
Mindfulness is woven into the work as a way of cultivating presence and self-attunement, rather than as a technique to manage or suppress experience.
Spirituality & Psychology
When questions of meaning, spirituality, or existential concern arise, they are held within a psychological framework that respects individual beliefs without imposing ideology. This intersection often becomes important during periods of loss, identity shift, or life transition.
Dream Work
Dream tending is one way depth-oriented work may naturally arise in therapy. Rather than interpreting dreams symbolically or analytically, dreams are approached as living experiences that can offer insight into emotional patterns, transitions, and internal dynamics. When dreams emerge, they may be explored gently and collaboratively as part of the therapeutic process.
This approach can be a standalone session or offered within the context of ongoing psychotherapy and is integrated into sessions based on each client’s needs, interests, and readiness. Not every aspect of this work is used with every client; therapy unfolds collaboratively and at a pace that feels supportive and grounded.
